EBR Shipyard starts activities in early 2014

The EBR shipyard, in São José do Norte (Rio Grande do Sul state) in Brazil, is the rather advanced works and early 2014 as part of the project will be ready to start building modules for platforms . The EBR is in the building phase of industrial areas and construction of the pier.
Alberto Padilla, president of the shipyard, said that in the second half of 2014 will be the EBR with the pier ready to begin integration of service modules on oil rigs. The shipyard will have the capacity to process 110,000 tons of steel per year and wharf of 820 meters, sufficient for the integration of modules on two platforms simultaneously extension.
"About 650 people work at the site began. At peak operation of the yard, scheduled for late 2014 and early 2015 , should reach 3 thousand direct jobs and 10,000 indirect", he said.
The EBR is born with ordering the construction and integration of the modules of the P- 74 platform for Petrobras, which will be the first platform to operate in the field of Assignment and will have the capacity to process 150,000 barrels of oil per day.
