ENEVA’s power plant Parnaíba IV received on December 13 the authorization of the National Regulatory Agency for Electricity to start commercial operation as a power self-producer. In partnership with ENEVA-E.ON joint venture and Petra Energia, the company signed an agreement on the free market aiming to supply 46 average MW at R$ 54 million per year for a period of five years. With 56 MW installed capacity, this plant is part of the Parnaíba Complex in Santo Antônio dos Lopes, in the state of Maranhão.
Parnaíba IV was synchronized to the National Interconnected System (SIN) on November 28, 2013 and plant nominal capacity was reached on the same day. The power plant comprises three generating units, each one with an installed capacity of 18,8 MW.
After the start up, which firmly establishes ENEVA as an energy supplier that also caters to free market demand, the Parnaíba Complex has reached 901 MW operational installed capacity, and natural gas consumption now totals 6 million of cubic meters per day.
