People management, diversity and inclusion, sustainability goals and talent attraction. These were the main subjects of the events with the presence of Equinor professionals on the second day of Rio Oil and Gas 2020 (02.12). The lecture entitled "The oil and gas industry in the view of young talent" was attended by Maria Clara Cardona (photo), Principal Consultant Development and Deployment at Equinor Brasil.

In her presentation, Maria Clara stated that the world and the oil industry are currently undergoing an energy transition, but also a generational transition. This scenario, in her opinion, does not bring conflicts, but gain opportunities for companies in the sector. He cited some examples of Equinor's initiatives in this regard, such as the collaboration hub, which brings together professionals of different profiles and ages, and mentoring programs for young talent in the company.

She commented on the challenge of attracting and retaining today's highly digitized young people, who urgently see environmental issues and seek rapid professional growth. In this sense, she mentioned measures that Equinor has been adopting in the selection of interns, such as the non-mandatory knowledge of the English language and the absence of a filter by university when choosing future professionals.

Equinor Lectures - In all, four lectures were given this Wednesday at Equinor's virtual stand. Different topics were addressed, but all reinforced the company's commitment to its strategic tripod - Always safe (Always safe), High value (High value) and Low carbon (Low carbon) - and its values: transparency (open), courage (corageous ), collaboration (collaborative) and care (caring).

In the area of people management, the speaker was the human development specialist Tina Birgitte, who presented a panel on diversity and inclusion, important issues for Equinor since the process of recruiting the professional. According to her, the best decisions come from teams with diversity. He recalled that the company is always improving itself: in terms of gender, the goal is to have 50% -50% and for that the efforts are to increase the number of women in all functions and areas of the company, including offshore. As for attracting new talent, she mentioned the internship, trainee and young apprentice programs - the latter will be launched next year. "It is a two-way street, where they learn and so do we," he concluded.

Two other panels brought lectures analyzing the issue of supply chain and attracting suppliers, and were presented by purchasing specialists Lucilene Bragança, Bárbara Cavalcante, Cássia Rosa and Márcio Moreira. All of them emphasized Equinor's interest and availability in working with suppliers of different profiles and sizes (large, medium, small, startups). All of them brought as the company's main message the continuous search for excellence in services, combined with the commitment to generate local value and progress.

They highlighted that technology and innovation are part of Equinor's DNA, that they are open to new solutions to increase the efficiency of the company's operations and stressed that the company has an interest in working with companies that they have never worked with or that have never presented themselves to them. until then. And what innovation is the gateway for these suppliers.

To talk about climate roadmap, carbon emissions and reduction targets, senior sustainability analyst Ana Paula Brandão made a presentation summarizing the main advances and challenges that Equinor has had along this path. Among the challenges, she recalled that the company wants to reduce the level of methane emissions by 0.25%, but that the company's international performance of methane emissions is already below the goal of the Oil & Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) for 2025. And he stressed the importance of partners, so that they are always with these Equinor principles. Among the advances, she mentioned the Apodi Complex, the first solar energy asset in the company's global portfolio, and the license application submitted this year with Ibama for the development of an offshore wind complex.
