MCTI's new minister takes tenure
On Monday (17), took office in Brasilia, the Presidential Palace, the new Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Clelio Campolina Diniz, and other holders of five folders of the federal government. According to President Dilma Rousseff, the ministers will continue the projects touched by the predecessors and contribute to the task of "seeing a much better Brazil."
Dilma reminded of the contribution made by the predecessor Campolina, who commanded the folder since January 2012. "There are ministers who decide to seek new challenges inherent to its activities, as is the case of my dear comrade Marco Antonio Raupp, physical and competent mathematician, renowned scientist, who has been by my side in recent years", he said.
Coordinated by Raupp, in the words of the president, the federal government has "ample stimulus to innovation policy in the country", to implement the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Research and Innovation (Embrapii) and launch the Enterprise Innovation Plan, "a program that in addition to the large number of resources, U.S. $ 32 billion, accelerated the process of project approval".
World Standard
Campolina reinforced the need to bring up to Marco Antonio Raupp activities ahead of the ministry. "I want to continue the work being done and expand it," said the new minister. "This is the delegation that received the Presidency, to put Brazil in the pattern of the world's scientific and technological boundaries within a medium term".
Before taking any position, plans Campolina hear MCTI staff and the national scientific community. "We will immediately talk to all agencies related to the ministry, the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science, the entirety of deans and others who militate in research institutions, because such a decision needs to be legitimized",he said.
Contribution of new managers
For Dilma, the six new managers have much to contribute to the government with their professional experience. "The minister Clelio Campolina out a successful term as rector of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), which stands out for internationalization and its graduate whose courses are among the most reputable Capes (Coordination of Improvement Higher Level Personnel)", he said.
