The first industrial airport in Brazil was opened last Friday (14), in Lagoa Santa, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. The project will enable the installed onsite business to work in an area of [tax suspension, under a special customs warehouse. The Government of Mines has invested R$ 17 million through the Economic Development Company of Minas Gerais (Codemig), for the construction and implementation of the infrastructure space.
Located on the site of Tancredo Neves International Airport (international airport), the initiative to implement the Airport Industrial emerged in a partnership between the Government of Minas Gerais, the IRS and the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero). The Industrial Airport is a customs enclosure certified to carry out activities of manufacturing, clean housing companies, geared mainly for export and the production intensively use air transportation, to ensure speed, agility and accessibility, both to suppliers regarding consumers.

Space is allocated to the IRS, the administrator of the Industrial Airport and has a deposit of inputs in the input and output as well as a support area for companies that will be installed on site. The Government of Mines held any investment in infrastructure area of 46,000 square meters, which can operate nine batches, which can be occupied by up to nine companies.
The airport will be administered by the dealer and the international airport starts operation from August this year. Interested companies may have to contact the State Department of Economic Development (Headquarters) and the consortium AeroBrasil. According to Headquarters, 20 companies have expressed interest in investing in the space. To settle in the Airport Industrial firms must be accredited by the IRS.

Among the enterprises that can operate in the Industrial Airport are those of aerospace, electronics, life sciences and information technology. You can also store machinery or mechanical equipment, electromechanical, electronic or computer, catering for aircraft used in international commercial transportation, parts and other replacement materials, maintenance or repair of aircraft, as well as equipment and instruments aeronautical use.
