On June 2, 2021 the government signed the Decree of the New Gas Law, which aims to create an open, dynamic and competitive market.

One of the highlights of the decree is the classification of transport pipelines by technical criteria of diameter, pressure and extension. The decree establishes that the regulation of these criteria by the ANP must observe the promotion of the global efficiency of the networks and that the limits may be different due to the purpose of the gas pipelines.

The new gas market will bring more than BRL 80 billion in investments in Brazil and demand expansion, with BRL 45 billion in Rio de Janeiro. Impacts must reach all links in the natural gas value chain - from flow to consumption in various industrial segments!
