Odebrecht to invest R$30bn to R$40bn over the next three years
Odebrecht will invest between R$30 billion and R$40 billion over the next three years in different segments. Odebrecht CEO Marcelo Odebrecht told Valor that there will be a lot of investment in infrastructure through concessions and public-private partnerships, in Brazil and abroad. There will also be investment in petrochemicals, such as in Braskem’s subsidiary in Mexico, as well as in sanitation and oil and gas.
Marcelo Odebrecht gave a talk on Friday during the "Maratona Valor PME 2014" event in São Paulo for small and medium companies, which attracted more than 1,500 participants. The businessman suggested that the financial investor, who does not look at the long term, is responsible for setting the current critical tone regarding the state of the economy.
"The entrepreneur doesn't take an investment decision based on the financial market. No country can be at the mercy of the financial investor." "Maratona Valor PME 2014” also had speakers such as entrepreneurs Abilio Diniz, of BRF, Flavio Gurgel Rocha, president of Riachuelo, Oskar Metsavalaht, founder of Osklen, Alberto Saraiva, founder of Habib's, and Sônia Hess, president of manufacturer and retailer of Dudalina shirts.
