The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), where energy professionals meet to exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge, announced today that it will again offer complimentary 1-day registration during Open Access Day on Thursday, 5 May.

Attendees will be able to take advantage of the complimentary registration to build valuable relationships, increase industry knowledge and sharpen their skills with professional development programming.

Registration for Open Access Day will be online, (2016.otcnet.org/register), and on-site at NRG Center starting on Wednesday, 4 May, at 4 p.m. On Thursday, 5 May, registration will be open in NRG Center and NRG Arena from 7:30 to 2 p.m.

On Open Access Day, attendees can visit the exhibits – the floor is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday – as well as attend two professional development sessions that day. The sessions will be available in NRG Center, Level 2, room 700.

The first session at 10:30 a.m. focuses on “How to Start Your Own Business.” J. Roger Hite, founder and principal of Inwood Solutions, will guide attendees on how to develop an effective business plan.

At 2 p.m., the session “Networking Effectively to Build Beneficial Relationships” will help attendees learn how to grow their networking skills to build collaborative relationships, facilitate career changes, find new roles or jobs or establish new careers. Susan Howes, Reservoir Management Consultant at Chevron; Peggy Rijken, Team Leader, Productivity Enhancement Team at Chevron; and Hite are the presenters of this session.

“Since 1969, the world has come to OTC to make critical decisions, share ideas and develop business partnerships to meet global energy demands. Open Access Day is a timely opportunity for those looking to effectively grow their network to join the tens of thousands of executives, decision makers, investors, buyers and entrepreneurs that OTC unites,” said OTC 2016 Chairman Joe Fowler. “Thursday’s sessions will provide insights that will help oil and gas professionals jumpstart, or restart, their careers and achieve long-term success.”
