Petrobras production falls 2.2% in January

Total production of oil and natural gas from Petrobras in Brazil, in January, was 2 million 310 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), 2.2% below the volume produced in December 2013, which was 2 million 362,000 bpd. Included the production operated by Petrobras for its partners in Brazil, the volume of January was 2 million 438 thousand bpd.
The exclusive production of oil from Petrobras in Brazil reached an average of 1 million 917 thousand bopd in January. This volume was 2.4% lower than produced in the previous month (1 million 964 thousand bopd). Including the portion operable to partner companies, oil production in Brazil reached 1 million 997 000 bopd. According to state the reduction was by shutdowns - such as the P-20, in the Marlim field, and the FPSO Brazil in Roncador field, both units installed in the Campos Basin - the sale and sale of the stake in Petrobras Parque das Conchas.
The decrease in production volume in January was partly offset by the start of production of four new production wells, three in the Campos Basin - in the Marlim, Marlim Sul and Papa-Terra - and the fourth in the field of Lula Nordeste (LL17), the pre-salt Santos Basin.
The company highlights the pioneering technology of heating subsea lines adopted to enable the production of heavy oil in the Papa-Terra field, which has contributed to the growth of production of the P-63 platform with an increase of 18,000 bopd. Also contributed to the production output in January, the resumption of production at the P-53 platform in the Marlim Leste field after planned maintenance in December.
Pre-salt 
The average monthly production of oil from fields located in the province called pre-salt in the Santos and Campos basins, reached in January, a record of 358,000 bopd, up 13,000 bopd monthly average obtained in December of 2013 (345 mil bopd).
In February the first connected to a riser support buoy (BSR), the field Sapinhoá well was in operation in the pre-salt Santos Basin. This well, high productivity, is producing 36,000 barrels per day and contributed to the new daily record of 412,000 bpd in the province's pre-salt obtained on February 27.
In the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin was connected to a new well installed on the FPSO Piranema field, increasing the volume produced by the maritime field that produces more in the Northeast. In the Campos Basin, were placed in two new production wells in the Marlim Leste and Yellowfin, and three others in the field of Bijupirá.
Production of natural gas 
In January were produced 62 million 517 thousand cubic meters per day (m³ / d) of natural gas. Including the portion operated by Petrobras for associated companies, the volume reached 70 million 140 thousand m³ / d. This result was similar to the level achieved in the previous month.
