In the assessment of Petrobras president Pedro Parente, government decisions that led to regulatory changes, coupled with a time when the world is experiencing improvements in the economic scenario, will allow the country to experience the resumption of the oil and natural gas sector in the country. Parente also highlighted as factors that will contribute to this resumption of the oil industry the efforts made by operators and suppliers of the sector.
"The changes promoted in the last year have been noticed worldwide. I have traveled and met with investors and partners abroad, who always comment on their impressions that the oil and gas sector in Brazil has taken a turn and the country's business environment is more attractive to companies of different sizes, "said Parente.
He considers the government's decision to relax the operation in the area of the pre-salt, the revision of the local content policy and the greater predictability given to the new rounds of bidding, in addition to the extension of the Special Taxation Regime of the Petroleum Chain (Repetro) as fundamental to this process of resumption of the oil industry, allied to economic factors of the economy, such as low inflation and falling interest rates.
