With the advancement of the new coronavirus pandemic in Brazil, the population was instructed by the government to avoid leaving the house unnecessarily. In order for social isolation to be an opportunity to capitulate educationally and professionally, the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI) has offered free places in distance courses aimed at industry 4.0. Divided into modules, they include topics related to technology, such as Blockchain, Lean Manufacturing and BIM (Building Information Modeling).

The objective, according to the director of Education and Technology of CNI, Rafael Lucchesi, is that people of all ages take advantage of this window to enrich the curriculum and have more security to remain in jobs after the crisis. "We are investing in the training competence of industry 4.0, which tends to be a future bearer in the career of Brazilian workers," he says.

“SENAI has a distance education platform, with a material repository and all of this with augmented reality. In addition, remote simulator kits are available to provide this learning through the digital platform, ”adds Lucchesi.

The idea is that, by June, more than 100 thousand vacancies will be offered. To access the courses, which are more than 20 hours long, just access the Mundo SENAI platform, where you will need to make a simple registration. From there, just start to follow the classes and re-qualify.

Free stuff

In addition to distance courses, SENAI provided free access to most of its material. In the Virtual Bookshelf, those interested can access books referring to courses in 32 technological areas, 32 technical courses and 83 basic qualifications. There are more than 1,150 volumes available, which can also be accessed through the Books SENAI application, available on Google Play and the App Store.

Ibmec Brasília professor Gino Terentim Junior believes that the measures adopted by SENAI are important amid a scenario of uncertainty in the labor market.

“I see this as something fundamental. We need to rethink the education business model. When we were forced to confine ourselves because of the coronavirus, education left the buildings. The buildings housed education, and I needed to get out of my home. As I had to stay at home, it forced this model to adapt ”, he says.

Another measure to support the area is the launch of an innovation notice, also by SENAI, to meet the demand for respirators, alcohol gel, masks and maintenance of equipment necessary to combat Covid-19. The investment available to companies and startups reaches R $ 20 million, if added to the two calls for tenders, and each project may raise up to R $ 2 million. The results must be presented within 40 days.

“Our role will be to supply these problems, such as rapid tests to detect the disease. In isolation, having a wide range of these tests will be of great importance, as will the manufacture of ventilators (respirators) ”, completes the director of Education and Technology at CNI, Rafael Lucchesi.

Entries can be made on the Innovation Publication website. Proposals can be made through Whatsapp, at (61) 99628-7337 or by e-mail combatecovid19@senaicni.com.br.

"Industry against coronavirus"

To mitigate the effects of Covid-19 and protect those who produce and consume, in addition to SENAI, the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), the Social Service of Industry (SESI), the Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL) and the Federations of Industries of the 26 states and the DF have taken information and taken measures to reduce economic impacts and preserve lives through the national campaign “The industry against the coronavirus”. More information can be accessed on the entities' social networks.
