President Temer also recalled the similarities between Brazil and Russia and assessed dialogue between the two countries as positive

President Temer met with Russian President Vladmir Putin today (21 June) in the Kremlin, in Russian capital Moscow. Among the subjects discussed was the resumption of growth in Brazil and the country's return to the path of development.
One of the issues highlighted during the meeting was inflation. Both Brazil and Russia have seen a "significant drop" in inflation recent months, the president said. "When I took office inflation was at 10%; today, it is at 3.6%," he added.
Another factor that has helped boost the Brazilian economy is the fall in the Selic, Brazil's benchmark interest rate determined by the Central Bank. For Temer, the gradual interest rate cuts from last year's 14.25% to the current 10.25% have been done responsibly. "Very soon, we will have single-digit interest rates in our country," he said.
Dialogue
In addition to discussing economic issues, president Temer commented on the similarities between Brazil and Russia, and positively assessed the dialogue between the two countries and during meetings of the BRICS, the G20 and the United Nations.
Prior to speaking with Putin, Temer had meetings with the Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, Senator Valentina Matvienko, and with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
