According to an ANP announcement, Brazil's oil and gas production was approximately 3.305 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe / d) in July 2018.

Production was 2,575 million barrels of oil per day (bbl / d), a decrease of 0.6% compared to the previous month and 1.8%, compared to July 2017.

Natural gas production totaled 116 million cubic meters per day, an increase of 0.9% compared to the previous month and 0.8% compared to the same month of 2017.

July production data is available on the ANP's Monthly Bulletin of Petroleum and Natural Gas Production.

Pre-salt

Pre-salt production in July totaled 1.821 million boe / d, an increase of 3.3% over the previous month. 1,454 million barrels of oil per day and 58 million cubic meters of natural gas per day were produced through 87 wells. The pre-salt production corresponded to 55.1% of the total produced in Brazil.

The pre-salt wells are those whose production is carried out in the geological horizon called pre-salt, in fields located in the area defined in section IV of caput of article 2 of Law 12,351 / 2010.

Use of natural gas

The use of natural gas in Brazil in July reached 96.7% of the total volume produced. 63 million cubic meters per day were made available to the market.

Gas flaring totaled 3.9 million cubic meters per day, a decrease of 6.6% compared to the previous month and a reduction of 8.2% compared to the same month in 2017.

Producer fields

The Lula field, in the Santos Basin, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas. It produced, on average, 879 thousand bbl / d of oil and 36.8 million m3 / d of natural gas.

Maritime fields produced 95.7% of oil and 77.6% of natural gas. The production occurred in 7,483 wells, 718 seafarers and 6,765 terrestrial. The fields operated by Petrobras produced 93.3% of the oil and natural gas.

Estreito, in the Potiguar Basin, had the largest number of producing wells: 1,106. Marlim Sul, in the Campos Basin, was the maritime field with the largest number of producing wells: 96.

The FPSO Cidade de Marica, producing in the Lula field, was the facility with the largest oil production. It produced 150,900 bbl / d through eight interconnected wells.

The Polo Arara installation, producing in the fields of Arara Azul, Araracanga, Carapanaúba, Cupiúba, Urucu River and Southwest Urucu, by means of 39 interconnected wells, produced 8.0 million m3 / d of the facility with the largest gas production Natural.

Other information

In July 2018, 308 concession areas, an onerous assignment area and a sharing area, operated by 32 companies, were responsible for domestic production. Of these, 78 are maritime and 232 are terrestrial. Of the total of the producing areas, two are in exploratory activity and producing through Long Term Test (TLD) and another 10 are related to contracts of areas containing marginal accumulations.

The average API grade was 27.2, with 39.7% of the production considered as light oil (> = 31 ° API), 46.7% medium oil (> = 22 API and <31 API) and 13.7% oil heavy (<22 API).

The mature terrestrial basins (fields / long-term tests of the Espírito Santo, Potiguar, Recôncavo, Sergipe and Alagoas basins) produced 112.8 thousand boe / d, of which 89.7 thousand bbl / d of oil and 3.7 million m3 / d of natural gas. Of this total, 108.6 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day were produced by Petrobras and 4.2 thousand boe / d for concessions not operated by Petrobras, 353 boe / d in Alagoas, 1,964 boe / d in Bahia, 34 boe / d in Espírito Santo, 1,608 boe / d in Rio Grande do Norte and 200 boe / d in Sergipe.
