While Petrobras does not increase its refining capacity, Brazil will continue importer of diesel and gasoline. The statement was given this morning by Aurélio Amaral, superintendent of Supply of Brazilian Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

According to ANP, Brazil raised its diesel imports in 2013 at about 2.3 billion liters compared to 2012. 2013 were 9.919 million m³ in volume by product and by 2012 about 7.649 million m³. According Florival Carvalho, director of the NPA, the country should stop importing diesel in two or three years with the operation of two trains of Northeast Refinery (Rnest), in Pernambuco.
